Rarner Gin
CHF 30
View BottleFew countries cultivate the apéro like Switzerland. A gin and tonic with Johann Gin turns it into a moment of origin — Valais fruit instead of interchangeability.
Our formula: 5 cl Rarner Gin, 12 cl restrained tonic, plenty of ice, a grapefruit wedge. The Valais apricot in the gin plays the role elaborate garnishes must play elsewhere — the drink is built in thirty seconds and tastes like another. For variety: Solstice with a lemon twist as the dry version.
As a rule of thumb, plan two drinks per guest per hour — a 50 cl bottle makes about ten gin and tonics. For larger events we are happy to advise; and if you want the apéro at the distillery itself, book a tasting in Raron with a look behind the scenes.
A neutral to Mediterranean tonic with little flavour of its own — it should carry the alpine botanicals, not drown them.
For a two-hour apéro plan around four 50 cl bottles — plus enough tonic and ice. Better to plan a reserve.
Offer a good tonic with grapefruit and rosemary — visually and in taste a full apéro drink without alcohol.
