View BottleSwitzerland has water, mountains and botanicals the world envies. Johann Gin distils them into a gin of true origin: made in Raron in the Valais, on a base of Valais wine.
Gin lives off its botanicals — and few countries pack such diversity into so small a space: alpine herbs, mountain berries, gentian roots, fruit from climatically blessed valleys. Swiss gin is rarely loud, but often unusually precise.
Johann Gin goes one step further: instead of neutral industrial alcohol, Valais wine forms the base of our distillates. It is more demanding, but it gives the gin a texture and depth neutral spirit cannot reach.
Rarner Gin pairs juniper with Valais apricots, blueberries, ginger, chili and larch wood. Hiemalis interprets winter with cinnamon, cloves, orange and hibiscus. Solstice puts gentian and the wine base centre stage — a gin for purists.
All our gins are made in small batches on our copper pot still in Raron and are available in the online shop — with delivery across Switzerland.
Not legally — but many Swiss gins share a signature: alpine botanicals, precise craft, small batches. Johann Gin adds its Valais wine base to that.
Directly in our online shop — we ship from Raron across Switzerland. Selected stockists and bars also carry our gins; see the stockists map.
First neat at room temperature to meet the botanicals — then in a gin and tonic with a restrained tonic that does not mask the alpine notes. Recipes are in our cocktail collection.
