Apple: A Familiar Fruit, Distilled Anew

Apple and cinnamon are a promise — in Hiemalis we deliver it as a gin: mildly fruity up front, spicy in the finish.

Why apple works in gin

The apple does not push itself forward — that is precisely its strength. In the distillate it delivers a round, soft fruit that leaves room for other botanicals: the canvas on which cinnamon, cloves and orange paint their colours. In Switzerland, a classic fruit-brandy country, distilled apple has long tradition too.

Apple in Hiemalis

In Hiemalis the apple, together with orange, forms the fruity foundation beneath the spice ensemble. It shows best gently warmed: Hiemalis with hot apple juice is our winter drink par excellence — or classically in a tonic with a thin apple slice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Hiemalis taste like apple schnapps?

No — the apple is one botanical among many. Juniper leads; the apple adds roundness and background fruit.

Which Johann Gin contains apple?

Hiemalis — our winter gin, where apple and orange lay the fruit base for cinnamon, cloves and hibiscus.

How do I serve an apple gin in winter?

Gently warmed with apple juice and a cinnamon stick — never boiled. In summer: tonic, plenty of ice, an apple slice.
