From Thun’s castle hill you look at Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau — on whose southern side, in the Rhône valley, we distil. Via the Lötschberg the Valais is quickly reached from Thun; but the bottle also travels comfortably by post.
Johann Gin is made in Raron in the Valais: distilled on a base of Valais wine, in small batches on a copper pot still, with botanicals like Valais apricot, blueberry, larch wood and gentian. Three gins, three characters — the fruity Rarner, the wintry Hiemalis, the clean Solstice.
